A waste management platform for people working in the field. Permits, transporters and delivered volumes organised into dark, high-contrast screens that stay readable in daylight.
The Challenge
Waste management runs on paperwork: permits, licences, assigned transporters, delivered volumes, all of it auditable. Digitising that means carrying genuinely dense operational data without the app collapsing into a form to fill in.
It is also used in the worst possible conditions for a screen — direct sun, gloved hands, patchy signal, and drivers who are mid-route rather than sitting at a desk.
The Approach
A dark base with high-contrast green cuts glare and keeps the screen readable outdoors, reserving the brightest colour for the things that actually need acting on.
Information is grouped by decision rather than by data type. A contractor sees status, quantity and next action together, so the routine questions are answered without navigating anywhere.
The System
Tap targets are sized for gloved hands, charts summarise before they detail, and every screen has one obvious primary action. Licence assignment and QR generation sit one tap from home because they are the two things done most.
